Exercise response to problems of memory and mental function

The American Academy of Neurology brings new recommendations to patients with mild impairment of their mental function and suggests systematic exercise as the appropriate physical way to improve memory and thought.

Based on data published in the Academy's scientific leaflet, mild impairment of cognitive function is an intermediate stage between the expected age-related decline and the more severe attenuation due to the dementia spectrum. The main signs of this situation are problems with memory, speech, critical ability, which of course is often self-evident due to the passing of years. Generally, mild impairment of cognitive function does not interfere with the daily routine and normal activities of the individual, but can serve as a springboard for the development of dementia, Alzheimer's and other related neurological disorders.

Researchers who made this conclusion reviewed and meta-analysis of relevant scientific literature, and the analysis of the data showed that regular exercise with some form of exercise (ie twice a week and more) can contribute significantly to the management of symptoms of low impairment of cognitive function.

More specifically, experts have stressed that 150 minutes of physical activity per week should be completed, which can be shared in 30 minutes for 5 days or 50 minutes for 3 days a week. The intensity of exercise is also important, which should cause gentle sweating, but without too much effort, ie exercises that the practitioner can not speak during the exercise.
